Not enough food - Very bad for a long haul. The crew put 10 sandwiches on a plate for people to grab between “meals” they went in 5 seconds. people were scrambling to be able to grab one. This happened twice (20 in total for maybe 150 passengers). People were starving! Seats are way to small even for me 5 foot 7 and 140 pounds. Entertainment was good. If you ask people to pay to check in your luggage then we travel with smaller luggage we can carry in the plane but then DON’T ask us to check them in for free. It’s ridiculous! it was on time which make it a good flight, if it wasn’t, it would have been a very bad flight.

Boarding was straightforward in IST, but security was strict (everyone's passport, boarding pass, and Covid tests were checked and re-checked 3 times within about 40 ft by 3 different sets of TK employees), with a final carry-on bag check with bomb nitrates swab for every passenger. And that was before boarding passes were scanned to step onto the plane. I first flew Turkish Airlines in 2005 and was extremely impressed. (The strict security process for flying to the US was much the same then as now, when they flew from the old Istanbul airport.) I have flown TK several times since and seen improvement, but not at the rate of its competitors, especially in the region. However, for my last trip (with a long leg between IST and LAX) they were half the price of other flagship carriers. Food quality, quantity and variety have declined, although that may be due to Covid restrictions. The lavatories remained clean but at least one ran out of TP & all other paper supplies half way to LAX. A couple of passengers (in economy, with me) took to using the business class lavatories and got into a dispute (real shouting match) with the flight attendants about it. (The passengers were in the wrong and escalating with unreasonable demands, but one flight attendant let his temper get the better of him. I didn't count but it seemed that there were fewer flight attendants on duty, with one being a fully robed "hygiene officer".) They did take Covid seriously, and distributed hygiene kits with masks, wipes, etc. to every passenger. If transiting through Istanbul before a long flight leg, consider using the airport hotel (YotelAir) within the terminal for international transfers (behind security). Reserve a room, as it was booked out when I last flew through. Otherwise, there are few places to sit down or rest once through to the International Transfers area.

Punti negativi: "After missing our connecting flight in Istanbul on our Turkish Airlines flight on January 9th from LAX-Addis Ababa (due to a nearly 45 minute delayed flight), my sister and I had to spend 24 hours in Istanbul and still pay for a night in our 4 star hotel in Addis, despite the fact that we weren't there. So, in preparation for our flight back to LAX, I spent hours on the phone with a Turkish Airlines representative to ensure that we would not miss our connecting flight on the way back to LAX on January 29 (Jomo Kenyatta-IST-LAX). The TA representative spoke very little English and became incredibly frustrated with me when I expressed my concern about how closely scheduled our connecting flights in Istanbul were. The representative said she could "help us" by seating us at the back of the plane from Jomo Kenyatta-IST, as she was "mostly sure" that our plane would deboard from the back of the plane once we arrived in Istanbul and, in theory, we wouldn't have to wait behind all the other customers to exit. This was totally incorrect: our plane only deboarded from the front exit door and the seats she selected at the back would surely have caused us to miss our next flight were it not for the fact that the plane wasn't full and we arrived only a few minutes late. Still, by the time we got off the plane in IST, our connecting flight was already 15 minutes into boarding. We showed the TA attendants our boarding passes at the long security line, and at first they both said, "don't worry, it will be fine". I had to convince them to let us skip the line as we would clearly have missed our flight. Once we finally made it through security we ran through the ENTIRE Istanbul airport to get to our gate, as we could hear them calling the final boarding call for our flight to LAX. We literally ran as fast as we could for almost 20 minutes straight, with all of our bags, which ended up being over a mile, I would guess. When we got to our gate, we had to go through yet another security line - WHY??? Apparently there was a celebrity in front of us, and while we were sweating and nervous about missing our flight, the security agents were taking selfies with the celebrity. It was insulting and rude and totally unprofessional. The take away for me is that Turkish Airlines should NOT be allowed to sell flights to people that give them less than an hour to make international connecting, especially in an airport as large and disorganized as Istanbul, and especially when Turkish Airlines flights are often late or delayed. This was one of the most stressful flying experiences of my life."

Also, there was no way to go to the bathroom without going through a long line of security again at the last gate before the shuttle which did not make sense."

The flight was fine. Legroom on this airline is not as good as others, but we were saved by the fact the flight was not full and two of us were able to stretch out over three seats. I found some interesting movies to watch. The TV show selection was rather lacking. Food was ok.

Ecco, Austrian semplicemente non lo sa. Il volo, già in ritardo di mezz'ora - strano - all'altezza di Graz deve rientrare a Vienna per guasto, dicono, all'aria condizionata. Ci dicono che ci daranno informazioni al gate. Può capitare, naturalmente. Solo che: - le informazioni non le danno al gate, ma allo Starbucks dell'aeroporto, senza avere aspettato e neanche avvertito tutti i passeggeri - ci dicono che nonostante i mercatini natalizi ci hanno trovato comunque un hotel, facendolo un po' pesare, mentre è loro dovere, siccome il volo è ritardato al giorno dopo. Peccato che l'hotel è a 120 km e loro non hanno trovato il bus per il trasferimento (incidentalmente, anche questo è da norma di legge un loro dovere...) - alla fine come assistenza in termini di generi di conforto commisurata alla durata del ritardo, 10 ore, il tutto si è ridotto ad una bottiglietta d'acqua e un kit toilette per il mattino. In ragione della distanza degli hotel disponibili siamo stati invitati pressantemente a passare la notte nel terminal, ma: - nessuna assistenza. Dopo i controlli di sicurezza neanche una bottiglietta d'acqua, neanche un voucher colazione, neanche qualche coperta o cuscino per dormire meglio sulle scomodissime sedie/divano. E neanche uno scusate. - nessuna reazione alla possibilità di apertura della business giunge: è chiusa e non la riapriamo per voi. Neanche per farvi dormire un po' meno peggio. - nessuna specifica informazione ai passeggeri sulla evoluzione della situazione - siamo stati abbandonati a noi stessi, in sostanza Violazioni multiple e ripetute del regolamento CE 261/2004. Ma pagheranno, eh, se pagheranno..."

I liked that my flight was on time both ways. I really liked the food going over to Heathrow on British Air. We were given two choices - liked that there was a simple chicken dish option. I didn't like the food going back on American - we were only given the one option of a curry dish and I don't like curry.
Again- we should have been told re extra charges
Everything about this flight was excellent. Great service, friendly staff, smooth flight, great entertainment. I was traveling with children and the staff went above and beyond to make them comfortable during this flight. Probably the best service I have ever had on a flight.
The service was great and the whole process was smooth. My personal tv was not working so was bummed not to have the built in entertainment.

[ ] Chaotic is an understatement! I was flying from Helsinki to Los Angeles via Stockholm and eventhough I booked everything directly thru finnair, they gave me only 35 min to change planes that required crossing accross terminal 5 and going thru customs. I asked helped to different staff multiple times and no one cared. Finally when I made it to the gate the flight had been delayed because finnair did the same thing to other flights yet the app and website never updated. Finnair made several of us think we had missed our flight! [ ] Then when I got to the gate, the staff checked all of my documents again eventhough I had been checked in Finland less than 2 hrs before. If you fly with Finnair get ready for chaos. [ ] Messy online presence. Too many emails saying the same thing but hard to find relevant information (for example, I couldn't find any information about the trip from Stockholm to LAX) [ ] they provide the option to check in online and tag your bags at the airport but then have no bag drop line at some airports. [ ] Luggage information in Helsinki was never clear and caused us to step out and have to ring the doorbell to get our bags. It took forever for someone to open the door. [ ] Staff are careless about customer comfort. In rovaniemi, we had to board thru the tarmac and the attendants didn't care that people had to wait outdoor on freezing temperatures while the passengers were taking forever to put in their luggage and sit down. [ ] the only positive is that the airplanes are in good condition.
I love love this airline. The crew was awesome; so friendly, professional, and playful. The seats were comfy & very clean. Great entertainment selection and the Complimentary wine was most appreciated! 3 thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

The cabin is nice and new with large view touchscreen TV for each seat. Gluten free meal was good, I'm just glad they finally boarded the plane with my GF meal (after repeated unsuccessful attempts). The service was great, our BA attendants were polite and attentive."
