This, in turn, caused a domino effect for the remainder of my flights and travel plans. I had to PURCHASE brand new tickets and go through a refunding debacle, not through Kayak but another third party whom actually held the tickets. FIASCO is the word! Kayak did not even recognize the cancellation and continued to try and check me in to flights i was not on. Such a headache.. I will not be using this service in the future"

We were told that it was just a half an hour delay by the man that was informing us of the delay and then we were then told by a woman that it was going to be over an hour. We weren’t told any specifics of why the plane was delayed, other than: “ the engineers are looking at the issue now”. We received messages saying that the flight was cancelled but then we were told to ignore that. We were told that we would have an update every 10-15 minutes but by the time we had the next update was 1 hours later, we were told that the plane will depart at 15:50- which we did. But we also sat on the plane for an extra 2 hours or maybe even more (couldn’t bare watching the time at this point) because the man that was supposed to push the plane backwards in order to reverse the plane didn’t turn up so we then had to wait for all of the other planes to take off before we could. Eventually the plane set off at 18:20 and I got in France 19:30-20:00 ish?"

No one came to help us for 15 minutes. Then they came out to answer the phone and said we were 10 minutes past the cut off and we could not fly."

We were on the tarmac in Abidjan for almost an hour, before we were informed that there were some technical issues. We were told it was a minor issue, until clearly it was a large enough issue as a lot of time passed by. Air stopped flowing so many passengers including myself became uncomfortably hot and dehydrated. The flight attendants only came down the aisle once with water, which was not considerate enough given that the air stopped flowing. Finally close to two hours later passengers we instructed to disembark without mention of how long the wait would be. We re-boarded the flight after about an hour and only then were informed that there was not enough power to fly the plane. Once we took off the air flow returned and the flight overall was pleasant. While safety of course is a priority, especially for a long overnight flight, communication could have been much better."

Eventually many people went through business queue while others had been waiting in economy. Ground staff were standing around watching and not helping or communicating. Poor show from Ethiopian!"

Even budget companies such as Easy Jet and Ryan Air provide better service. Not recommended at all people."

Punti positivi: "The computer check in service is very good and very quick and check-in my bag in then went through security check was very quick so I went through to the duty free shops enjoyed looking at all the different things which can be printed on your boarding pass what you've bought then you wait to board the flight we boarded the plane and found my seat easy the flight took off and the service was very good I was able to eat most of the food I watched my dvds after then we landed going through security was quick then I collected my luggage and then I exited the airport."

It needs to be ensured that the English of the crew member making the announcements is understandable. There were so many announcements but the English was rendered unintelligible for the most part. One of the baggage for one of my family members was not there on our arrival but we've since been notified that it has been found and well be sent to us"

Punti negativi: "When getting ready to board, they need to have signs designating letters requested for boarding. Some people were cutting into other lines and in front of others. There was too much bread given. For example, at lunch we were provided with a cheese sandwich and a chocolate chip muffin. On the positive side, I liked having yogurt with each meal."

For the returning flight it meant putting me on another airline resulting in a long stopover without any additional compensation."

Punti negativi: "The airline cancelled one leg of our flight and then we had to apply for the money back for remaining legs, as they refused to be flexible on the rest of the trip. Instead of offering any help, it was down to us to call their call centre and ask for them to do something about it. At first they didn’t even understand their own cancellation and in the end they refused to do anything. We had to get lastminute.com to sort it for us, and in the end we got our money back. Only after chasing for a second time though! Definitely would not recommend this airline."

Punti negativi: "Boarding process was chaotic as it often is when passengers need to be bussed out to the plane. Many passengers took the wrong seats and discrepancies in passenger count delayed the flight. At one point a family was asked to move, and take their carry-ons, but they were eventually allowed to return to their seats. Somehow it was resolved and we left. No personal TV , but overhead tv showed moving map for a while, then they switched to cartoons without sound. Airlines generally don't provide the best service or use the newest aircraft on African routes, so this was typical."
