Punti positivi: "Great value! This was my first time on China Eastern and was apprehensive because of numerous negative reviews I have read about them. Boy, was I very pleasantly surprised. I travelled from Honolulu to Manila with a stopover in Shanghai. The pleasant experience started with the ground crew in Honolulu. Very friendly and helpful unlike experiences I have had with other airlines there. The flight crew was also very good — respectful and helpful in spite of the limited English. The flight left the gate 5 minutes before scheduled departure. I rated the food and entertainment 3-stars not as a negative, but because it was ordinary — I did not expect anything better than that because the price was very cheap. A couple of observations: (1) in spite of a nearly full flight, there was plenty of overhead space — could it have something to do with their luggage policies? and, (2) very efficient boarding — boarding by seating zones rather than frequent flyer status. I saw a lot of calm and no aggressive behavior. Just overall pleasantly surprised."

The flight departure time should be 2:20 AM (already a late hour), but the actual departure was 2 hrs late. On board, the business class seat was old, no flat bed, short and not well maintained; food was disgusting."

I asked online if i can buy round trip for me and one way ticket for my daughter. They said i cant. So i bought round trip. Now i am here in Cambodia waiting to check in with my daughter but they said that my daughter does have ticket as it was cancelled since she was not in the departure flight from SFO. I am suing somebody."

Try to contact customer service the number on website no help. Really disappointed. Next time if I have to fly I have to think hundred time. Even my family try to find out after cancelled flight no information updated on website. Even if I have to recommend friends and family tell them my experience to think twice. Hope in future it should be improve."

Punti negativi: "The thing that was very stressful was not seeing one of our checked in luggage cases after spending a lot of time at immigration. Only did we get the trunk back after another frantic passenger had to flail his arms, run back and forth from the luggage area, and even confront the baggage personnel. At the end of it all, three trunks magically appeared. At the end of a flight, the last thing you need is lost luggage. I'm not sure if this would be in reflection of the airline or the airport but many people will appreciate this not happening anymore. The entertainment screen was hard to see and no headphones were given. The food was okay, but I felt I wasted a lot of it because it wasn't appetizing. The beef was cut with a lot of fat and the fish ball plate was cold and went practically untouched."
