Arriving at the airport to check in, I saw options to select seats which made me upset even though there was nothing next to each other but way more options than online."

Actual departure 1:30 AM I reserved a center aisle seat in a row that was completely empty a day or two before departure, hoping to get the whole row. Didn't work out. Just before we closed the doors a couple arrived at the row and took up three of the seats. Darn it. But I still got a good nights sleep. Wish there was an option to check N/A on several of the options above. I didn't speak to a crew member. I didn't eat or drink anything. I never turned on the entertainment system."

"The company did not know how to handle COVID bureaucracy efficiently or even correctly. We were asked to fill in four forms when only one is needed or even checked at all. I had to come in early to the airport, take a COVID test and then wait in the airport departure lobby for almost 1h to check in while waiting for the test results. Given that I spent a substantial amount to get a business ticket, I expected my time to be respected and to have business facilities made available. Once reached, the lounge now has an ordering system instead of self-service. The food was honestly disgusting, cold boiled rice without any salt and some "Spanish chorizo chicken" that had no chorizo and tasted like boiled chicken dropped in reheated tomato sauce. The plane departed one hour late. The business class seat was small, but comfortable. The company sent a boiler plate email apologizing which is something you appreciate the first time and it becomes grating when you get more than one per week."

The flight overall was good, British Airways crew are always very competent and professional, which is the reason why I mainly fly with BA. But this is the first time I had some concerns on the lack of safety checks especially because I travelled with my 2 years old son."

I feel sorry for the flight attendants who have to fill out paper credit card forms if you present an American credit card. It’s like we are back in the 1970s. Ridiculous. It’s a $45/bag charge to check your bag. That’s almost double the standard $25 for American carriers. May try to avoid BA in the future."

We had 12 minutes to depart, go through security and RUN to another terminal and navigate a foreign AirPort and run onto a BA plane that we were told would not wait for the numerous passengers trying to reach the plane. And then sat for over 30 minutes on the plane while the "luggage" was being loaded. Then was told our luggage never made it to our plane. Given both flights were BA I was totally disappointed for this short-term anxiety that was unnecessary."

When I checked in, my roller-bag suitcase carry-on was not allowed to be carried on and it made me scramble at the last minute to grab items I wanted for in-flight use. The odd thing was that the flight was less than half full and there was lots of storage space. Plus a young male was allowed to board with a very large duffel bag (larger than my roller), an over-sized skate board, and a personal backpack and a pillow."

The crew was friendly, helpful and it was easy to ask them questions. For both the price and the ease of service I would absolutely recommend them again to anyone I know."

However, in this case, AA was pretty good, especially the check-in staff at Rome Airport who were excellent. The check-in, boarding and de-boarding processes all went well. Plane was relatively modern, with USB charging ports for phones. Movie selection was good, though the TV selection could be expanded. The food was ok. Seating not bad. All of our luggage, including a child's carseat, was delivered on time and intact. Pleasantly surprised."

They were rude and inconsiderate as they kept suggesting to fly standby. We shouldn't have to fly standby when it wasn't our fault why were late. They told us our bags would be ok going to Chicago and they we would make the flight, but we did not. I do not know why didn't wait for us considering there were 8 others that also missed the connecting flight. We had to fly to Denver and stay overnight with no luggage and catch a 7:00am flight to Chicago. The last surprise I received was my damaged bag when I got back to Chicago. Thank you for making this trip memorable in a terrible way. I will never book or recommend Kayak or use American Airlines again."

Staff was courteous but did not particularly demonstrate awareness of the strain on the travelers being cramped for 10+ hours. Plane was so cramped that one could not take a stretch walk down the aisles to alleviate muscle cramp being in same position for 10 hours. My ultimate destination was San Jose, CA, but that entailed a wait at O'Hare from 12:30p to 8p. Again, staff uninterested in traveler comfort in these parameters. American felt okay to delay my last leg from Chicago to San Jose an hour later than original scheduled, but offered no compensation for the addition to my discomfort. The switch from British Airways to American was a surprise. New flight numbers, change increased my travel stress. I am only 5'3" and not obese, yet could not really fit in my seat: kept getting bumped by passers by in aisle. Airline uninterested in passenger comfort."

This is key to getting your luggae faster in baggage claim when you have a short connection (I had less than two hours). This omission caused my suitcase to arrive last, and I had to run to make it to my next flight."

We were pretty close to the front but every time the beverage cart made it to us the wine was already empty from the previous passengers. Overall pretty miserable flight"

Punti negativi: "Boarding at Lisbon airport was one of the worst experiences. Passengers were asked to line up at least 30 minutes before boarding started and it was hot in the terminal. As boarding started, passengers were split into groups by boarding zones...premium passengers boarded first as expected, then people with small bags. This is where the problem was because a group of four passengers who had one small bag (that could fit under seat) were allowed to go before passengers in boarding zones A/B. The whole idea is people who could fit bags under their seat would board first, but the tap team made a mess and allowed many passengers with large bags in as well. I was one of the last ones to be boarded and stranded on the line for over 40 minutes with my backpack...after traveling for a month and being delayed in Rome, last thing you want is stupid mistakes like this to cause you stress."

Multiple agents admitted their company is terrible and doesn't care about its customers. The indifference to our situation was surreal. Lesson learned."

Thankfully no one sat on the end so we were able to spread out between 3 seats. The entire experience made us not want to fly into Portugal again."

Worse, after 2-hours with customer service, nobody there made any real attempt to remedy the situation or offer any compensation. Worst airline experience EVER."

I was in the bathroom 3x during the flight and I usually don't use the restroom more than once during any given flight. I didn't like that when asking for a drink of water, they only give a half full cup of room-temperature water. On an 8 hour flight, I get dehydrated and could drink 2 water bottles alone. I don't like to be a nuisance to the attendants so I only asked for water twice. I just wish they would provide small personal bottles per customer. I also have never flown on TAP before so I wasn't aware of anything like how to call an attendant using the touch-screen or even that watching movies was free. It should be said over the intercom at the beginning of the flight."

The crew was so professional and prepared that when we landed in Lisbon there was a bus that brought about 25 of us who were connecting with final destination to JFK to the closest door to go through passport control and board onto our flight to JFK that they held for a good 30-45 minutes until all of us made our connection. Very professional and organized. Much appreciated that I didn't miss my final connection! Love flying TAP and will continue to do so!"

What i couldn't understand was why we had to be in the plane for the refueling. It makes more sense to wait in the airport at the gate rather in a tight confined place. I'm overall pissed at the situation. Not to mention my seat was defective and although the seat was up, it would push back the moment you put weight. The flight attendant kept on asking me to place my seat in the upright position (which wasn't possible). To get her off my back, i held my back up with my own weight. It should have been done earlier. 2. weather - caused the initial problem in NYC, no fault of air canada. 3. Montreal airport - Our gates were switched 3 times during the delays. Which happens, however the gate changes started at one end of the airport, moved to the other end of the airport and back to the original end."

Its just so inefficient and puts a complete damper on the trip......maybe curbside checkin also."

Punti positivi: "The movie collection is pretty decent. The food is decent and they provided snacks, etc as well. The stars is nice and I saw them helping out the parents who flied with small toddlers."

But a lot of these people have connection flights and we have to run through the long connections platform to get to the other side as well as go through the customs because it's the point of entry back from Rome."

When crossing the walkway to get to the washroom on the other side, one customer sitting on that row said we cannot pass. She even stretched out her leg to touch the wall in front in order to block passages. She must also be upset as a result of the disabled washrooms. Food was really sub standard. Breakfast was a so called chicken sandwich that looks like a cherry pie from McDonald. I got water spilled over me when water was poured for my neighbor customer. My jacket, pants and even right sock were all wet Crew did not apologize even when I asked for napkins to help dry my clothes. Very unprofessional. He should have used a tray to hold the cup when he"

Air Canada agents gave very little information, didn't care at all that they had cancelled dozens of flights."

They gave us a card to make it up to us but (wisely) don't tell you what it is for. It turned out to be for 10% off your next flight if you book it through their website within a year. Useless. On our return flight we were delayed on the tarmac for over an hour with no air conditioning, they originally said they were waiting for a signature but then said that there was something wrong with the engines that help us take off, then the cabin filled with a fuel smell, then they said they had brought the wrong item for the repair and we were waiting for the correct one. When we finally took off my husband's screen didn't work yet again and this was a 9 hour flight. The flight attendant said that some of the screens hadn't worked for a while ( probably cheaper to hand out useless discounts than to fix them.). We received another 10% off card, which we cannot combine or transfer, again useless. We missed our connection because of the delay, they booked us on another flight but because they didn't tell us that we had to pick up our luggage or where (it was on a different carousel than the rest of the luggage from our flight) and that we had to go through customs we (and many others) missed that flight too. We finally got a flight out the next morning and they put us up at a hotel. We both had to miss another day of work and it was quite an ordeal. My husband's screen worked for almost all of that last flight before it seized up. We didn't bother to report it that time since another 10% off coupon wasn't going to do us any good. Overall it is concerning that Air Canada doesn't seem to be maintaining their planes in optimal condition and that their idea of compensation involves them making even more money from me. Never again."

Punti negativi: "Boarding was slow and chaotic because of the number of passengers bringing oversize carry-on bags, presumably to try to avoid the checked-bag fee. The overhead bins filled up early, and passengers squabbled over the available space and objected when flight attendants told them they would have to gate-check their bags. The aisle was congested and blocked for long periods of time as people tried to fit their bags into the bin, and the plane left the gate more than 15 minutes late because of the slow boarding. There were about 100 people on the flight, but only about 20 at baggage claim (including at least two family groups), another indication that the checked-bag fee caused passengers to bring oversize carry-on bags. The overall rating for this flight would be significantly higher if it weren't for the boarding process."

Punti positivi: "- At Rome FCO, one of the Air Canada representatives pulled out of the line to get us into the business class check-in line since we had 2 kids - we totally loved this focus on families and respect the attention to detail! - The flight from FCO to YYZ was awesome! great food, great service, constant flow of drinks and the dessert was awesome! my kids are picky eaters and even they enjoyed the food - Movie and entertainment selection was awesome - Lastly, appreciated the prompt service for getting child stroller at the door of the aircraft at all times (from FCO-YYZ-PDX)"
Punti negativi: "- The new designed aircraft are meant to pack more passengers which means the aisle for rolling the trolley is very narrow - poor flight attendants were having a challenge and bumping trolley into seats (not their fault at all) - given likelihood of injuries and lawsuits, I highly recommend AIR CANADA management to do something about this narrow aisle before it is too late (i.e. major lawsuit filed by future passenger on account of injury sustained because of getting hurt by food trolley)"

Punti negativi: "The flight was horribly delayed and my plans and onwards transit was seriously affected. I missed my connecting flight from Toronto to New York and as a result, my plans to proceed to Boston was destroyed. When I spoke to the agent in Toronto, to route me to Boston, she told me that Air Canada's contract with me is to a place and not necessarily at a particular time. That was unbelievable. I arrived New York stranded, at 1:30pm, with no ability to continue to Boston. I had to spend so much money to get me to Boston. It was a horribly long day. Over 25 hours on the road, counting when I arrived Rome airport and when I finally got home."

Due to delays leaving Heathrow and arriving in Ontario, my 2 1/2 hour layover was reduced to 30 minutes. And because I was transfering to a flight to the US, I had to sprint through 6 security checkpoints. I made it to my flight, but my bag did not. My bag was not delivered to me until 1 am the following day."

Punti negativi: "The fact that because I was late for my flight, my reservation was cancelled. I was not given the opportunity to change my flight at all, I just lost out on the return portion of my travel. I would have been willing to pay a fee to change my return, but not given the opportunity. Had I booked directly with the airline, they would have had no problem making a change. Buyer beware!!! If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."

Punti positivi: "In flight entertainment was great - good selection of movies and TV shows. Attendants worked hard. Food suprisingly good. Very reasonable fare - drove to Toronto from Cincinnati to save $1000 per person vs. flying out of Cincinnati and $700 per person out of Atlanta."

Punti positivi: "Our family of four took this nine and a half hour flight on a day when it was important we stay awake. The inflight entertainment helped. My husband watched three movies, my kids and I played games (often together), and we used the accurate flight tracker to monitor our status. The food wasn't bad at all. Lunch was either chicken or pasta (which my son and I enjoyed) and we had wraps for snack (chicken or veg, which were very good). The beverage service was good and they came around a couple of extra times with water. The flight staff were friendly and helpful. My son is special needs and they were very accommodating."
Punti negativi: "Boarding this flight was a zoo. Instead of orderly calling zones as usual, it was an every-man-for-himself atmosphere. And then boarding was actually onto a bus which carried us out to the plane. Boarding was in front and back of the plane, but deplaning was only at the front of the plane, which took forever and we had a connecting flight. Word of advice: don't try to connect with less than two hours if you're heading to the US. We had at least four checkpoints to go through. (But that clearly wasn't on Air Canada and they, in fact, had someone at Customs watching out for us.)"

The staff provided updates periodically but it would be better if the issue could be prevented before boarding. Although it's not expected, I was pretty happy the seat on my left was empty on first plane. On the sub plane they arranged an overweighted guy on my left which made the delay worse as he threw off the strong smell of curry."

The crews to and from Rome acted like they had to be there and wished they weren't. that made the flight much less pleasant. The line through customs in Rome was 90 minutes long, way understaffed."
