Expect tight seating and narrow aisles."

The route was Dublin to Calgary, via Toronto. I left myself plenty of time im Toronto to clear customs as I know it can take a while. The day of, the flight ended up being 1.5 hours longer than usual due to headwinds, leaving me with only 2.5 hours in Toronto. I ended up waiting 2 hours and 15 minutes for my bag and missing my connecting flight (my sister who was also on the same flight received hers in 30 mins and made the flight). Westjet was wonderful and put me on a later flight but Aer Lingus didn't have any assistance for me."

In Dublin we were diverted from JFK to Hartford due to "mechanical problems" and told we'd be met at the gate and provided ground transportation to JFK. Approximately 30 others going to either JFK or Boston were told the same thing and joined us on a half empty flight to Hartford. When we landed there was no representative at the gate, no ground transportation provided, and no effort to help us. A little investigation on cell phones revealed both the Boston and JFK flights left on time (and I'm guessing full). Needless to say the customers were quite upset. Some even raised their voices which caused the kid representatives of Aer Lingus to call the state troopers (really). When the troopers did nothing the Aer Lingus reps locked themselves in their office rather than deal with their customers. After 2 hours of waiting for the promised ground transportation we gave up, rented a car, and drove ourselves to our destination at our own expense. We were never provided even a free drink. Horrible. Lies upon lies upon lies. I'll never consider flying with them again"

Overall, this flight was a nightmare and a huge let down after flying to Rome on British Airways. I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"

It was anxiety-creating to not have confidence that I would make my flight, even after waiting for an hour with very few (10-12) parties in front of me. Also, actual boarding was a third-world nightmare. Simple "zone" process boarding could radically improve the boarding time and the experience for custommers, among other things. Rome personnel seemed to not have had any training in customer service or even visited a different (better functioning) facility, just to get a sense of what could be possible. I am sure the processes could be easily improved, as best practices are executed elsewhere."

Aer Lingus reps in rome fixed that and I was very, very grateful for that, but when we got to the Dublin/Boston leg of our flight, they couldn't or wouldn 't fix the seating issue. On board the plane though, the flight attendents arranged for my daughter and I to sit together. Really upset me that I didn't know until the very last minute, on the plane, whether I was going to be able to sit next to my child."

Punti negativi: "Boarding at Lisbon airport was one of the worst experiences. Passengers were asked to line up at least 30 minutes before boarding started and it was hot in the terminal. As boarding started, passengers were split into groups by boarding zones...premium passengers boarded first as expected, then people with small bags. This is where the problem was because a group of four passengers who had one small bag (that could fit under seat) were allowed to go before passengers in boarding zones A/B. The whole idea is people who could fit bags under their seat would board first, but the tap team made a mess and allowed many passengers with large bags in as well. I was one of the last ones to be boarded and stranded on the line for over 40 minutes with my backpack...after traveling for a month and being delayed in Rome, last thing you want is stupid mistakes like this to cause you stress."

The food is great and the culture and architecture is gorgeous. For shorter trips TAP doesn't have as many amenities as other airlines, but on this trip the typical video screens with movies, music, etc. was available."

I noticed the other airline attendants seemed to be giving him a really hard time and weren't friendly at all. In fact, I rang a bell to ask for attendant help at one point and no one came to help. I was just a seat back from the area where the helpful airline attendant was available. I think that overall TAP flight staff could be a bit more open to being friendly. However, on the ground in Lisbon I've found the staff to be amazingly helpful."

During the flight, we asked for more refreshments and were told we could only have water by a flight attendant. Upon arrival at our destination with a child in hand, our stroller was not unloaded at the gate so we had to carry our child and all that travels with him to the baggage area. For anyone travelling internationally, you will know this is generally quite a distant from the gate in major airports. The strollers and car seats arrived in baggage 30 minutes after the main luggage. When staff were approached they were short and appeared very disinterested in helping. TAP failed on this flight home."

Lunch was either chicken or pasta (which my son and I enjoyed) and we had wraps for snack (chicken or veg, which were very good). The beverage service was good and they came around a couple of extra times with water. The flight staff were friendly and helpful. My son is special needs and they were very accommodating."

When I asked an employee at the airport, she told me I can contact Condor for a refund and gave no explanation as to the issue. I ended up showing a flight attendant my proof of purchase and my boarding pass with the exit row seat assignment and he was able to switch my seat. The person who was assigned my seat never paid for it, so he was willing to switch. I find this unacceptable. 2. The boarding process was a nightmare in Frankfurt. While I understand there was enhanced security due to the terrorism in Barcelona, it could have been handled far more efficiently. For instance, because I transferred airports from Barcelona, I needed to go through passport control twice and go through security again before boarding. The problem arose where there were two different lines to process the passports the 2nd time from Condor and when that was complete, to go through security. It was a large waste of time. 3. The flight was full to Austin. As a result, I was required to check my larger carry-on bag. They tried to charge me 75 euro for the second checked bag even though they were forcing me to check it on. Absolutely unacceptable. 4. They charge 8 euro for every movie and tv show available except two movies: Garfield and the last Harry Potter movies and 2 episodes of two tv shows. For an 11 hour flight, this was incredibly disappointing. The movies available were a mix of older and new. There should still be some unpaid entertainment options available in Coach. That's ridiculous."

There was no "chicken/meat or pasta" option, they only served pasta with marinera sauce for everyone in economy class which was so so....., however, I personally don't judge Airlines on their food, I could not care less and I am not looking for fancy food. Service quality, friendiyness of the crew, safety, airplane statue and reliability are my main points and I definitely think Condor scored great in those categories. I saw there was an option to preorder food choices / wishes prior to departure. I wish they used recyclable dishes (e.g. Like Lufthansa) to minimize trash."

I guess Im used to the fantastic service of Alaska airlines, where they are much more willing to give you free things on the plane, meals, drinks, especially if the card reader doesn't work. Luckily the gal next me had some cash to cover me. I also asked for a pen to fill out my custom papers, and a stewardess said no, she didn't have a pen and walked off. I would like to say I wouldn't fly them again, but they are cheap, and not having layovers is really nice"

Punti negativi: "Tightest passenger seating I have experienced in over 60 years of flying and the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE seat. I am just 6' and my knees pressed agsinst the seatback in the upright position. Firmly. First time ever I couldn't sleep. Accoustics meant the talking of a passenger across the aisle and against the window sounded like he was in my lap! HORRIBLE design. A ceiling panel came loose and swung down in flight (lights attached). Nobody knew how to fix it so the entire wait crew just stood and stared at it for 10 minutes until one woman swung it back into place. AWFUL training."

Punti negativi: "It's a long flight, I expected there to be free movies for passengers, a blanket, and headphones available. Food was less than satisfactory."

Punti negativi: "The flight arrived to Frankfurt to late for our next flight and re booked our next flight twice. So instead of waiting only an hour and half we ended waiting 7 hours. And the boarding on the next flight almost didn't have any seats. The entertainment and all the movies was not free of churg. And there was not enough food. I was hungry during the flight and found my self eating only junckfood snacks. Also the baggeg allowed was so small specially for international flight. I never heard before about only 20 kg allowed, and I fly a lot. This is not all, they even weight our hand baggeg. I was shocked and disappointed."

Punti negativi: "But, I had the one grumpy flight attendant who insisted on asking every question in German 3 or 4 times before she would grudgingly switch to English (which she could speak quite well). And the controller for the screen, lights etc didn't work so I had to use the touch screen instead."

Punti negativi: "The check in counter person gave me someone else's boarding pass. Good thing I had checked in online so I didn't have to wait in security line again. :(( The seats were so close together, people with long legs had trouble fitting in."
