They offer better service, better menu choices, and first class seating for the same price. Easy decision."

On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

The airline dropped the ball in so many ways here. 45 minutes past departure time and they are still boarding people. This was mostly do to the gate agents arbitrarily forcing people to needlessly check bags that would have been fine on board (while simultaneously forcing them to pay for checking thos bags, unbelievable money-grab on the part of the airline). Flight crew made no announcements whatsoever on the delay until 30 minutes past departure time. As an obvious result, bags then took a tremendous amount of time to arrive at claim."

I said, no you must be mistaken, there is no way you can charge me for two trips just because your plane is making a stop! They insisted and rather than fight and get thrown out of the airport i am disputing with my credit card company, but it can't possibly be legal. $690.00 fees !"

I could literally get water and a bag of chips without spending more money. Aside from that-the only place to get food at that time had VERY little to offer. Then-as the flight was delayed, I was stranded in New York City as the busses were no longer running. I had bought 2 seats, only to not make either of them. I had to book a train-wait another 3.45 hours into the morning hours, and pay for the entire train. All of this was after the flight to Europe had been canceled without purpose, and I am still waiting for a refund for booking another flight after missing the origional connection-considering i had to fly to Paris instead of Oslo-and my destination was Berlin. The flight was DY 7002 to Oslo, arriving on Jan. 5. For some reason leading up the flight, Norwegian did not cancel our flight - which left at 22:00 - even though the other major airlines had. We were forced to go to the airport chaos before Norwegian cancelled the flight around an hour before it was supposed to fly. We were delayed two days. When we finally boarded on Jan. 7 we had to sit on the tarmac for 3 hrs before taking off. The pilot couldn't explain the nature of the delay. In all fairness, I am not sure how much Norwegian or JFK are to blame for such horrendous service. Probably both are at fault. Norwegian: please consider your customers' time and well-being. Cancel your flights in advance of such conditions so that your passengers, update the information on your website. Those things are in your control, even if the situation at JFK is not."

You have to purchase meals in advance when you book your flight, otherwise you don't get much. But you can buy snacks and drinks on demand through the screen each passenger has."

People who knew about it lined up to wait to board for 45 mins before the flight began boarding... because the way it's done is so open. It doesn't create the most relaxing wait experience. But once I got on the plane, all was good. The check-in process was also a bit tiring too. There is no automated check-in option, so you have to stand in a really long line to get your boarding pass for international flights. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to check-in... especially given that there's a long security line next."

Punti negativi: "My young daughter was denied a ticketed seat on an 11:30 Norwegian air flight to Oslo, being told that her 10:33 arrival at the gate -- due to multiple protracted delays on earlier connecting flights to get her to the gate -- made her "too late" and the computers would not permit the gate agent to get her on board no matter how much extra she was willing to pay. She was simply told to get the next flight 24 hours later, killing 15% of her vacation. The gate agent said to my hysterical child that she was so sorry for the hours lost in prior connecting flight delays and recognized the plane my daughter was to be on was still one hour from pushback from the gate, but she couldn't overcome the computers having closed out the flight at precisely 60 minutes before scheduled departure so there was nothing a human could do. This is the epitome of machines gone crazy!!"
