And though I know the delays were not their fault a little more information about why we were delayed with more updates about when we would finally ge to move would have been appreciated. Also having to pay €100 for checking an 8 kilo bag is an absolute scam.

The sound was soooo awful I had to put headphones on to try and block the sounds. I had a headache and could not sleep the entire flight. Really awful to have to deal with all things LOUD bathroom flushing every 3 min. It was completely unacceptable. -JoAnna

Food and announcements were too frequent for a late night flight - only 2 hours to sleep on a 6 hour overnight flight.

Punti negativi: In Oman airs home airport there was no service desk. When the flight was delayed the sent 1 agent do deal with a full glitch’s worth of guests. Even though the delay was over 6 hours they gave no compensation besides lounge access to a lounge that is not fully functional. The next morning (yes the delay was overnight and they didn’t provide a hotel room) they called us all to the gate only to tell us they still were waiting for the plane to be repaired (the night before they’d Told us the flight would be in time as they’d flown another plane in). Again there was only one Oman air agent and just normal airport staff to handle the full flight. People were yelling and there was a lot of anger but no official announcements were ever made and only rumors passed from those who actually had a chance to talk to the on me guy. Finally when i arrived in Bangkok it seemed like they had there act together as there were many agents on the gangway to assist people to find connecting flights. Being so late there was only on flight for me and several others trying to get to Phuket. An agent took us to immigration and told us all he’d meet us in the other side to take us to the check in. HE DIDN’T SHOW UP. We couldn’t go back in the airport to find him or anyone from Oman air and were left to find an airport employee who graciously helped us find the booking office and just make the flight. I fly internationally regularly and this was by far the worst airline experience I’ve ever had or even heard about.

Punti positivi: This leg was continuation of flight that began in Xiamen. Same plane and crew. 787 Dreamliner layout is efficient, generous legroom and recline is better than American carriers. Crew works as team, fast and courteous. Very helpful and professional, Water offered frequently, trash pick up kept cabin neat, bathrooms always clean. Passenger announcements are clear and crisp is English and Chinese.

We had a 4 hour layover at Xiamen airport and instead of going straight to our gate, they made us go through immigration, then transfer services, then back through immigration. We landed at 5am, the transfer services open at 6, then check in opens at 6:50, but we weren’t allowed to check in until 8am because our flight was at 10am. We basically stood in line without anyone giving clear instructions and waited at different line ups for 1 hour each. Horrible airplane, horrible airport. Never transferring here again.

Punti negativi: The actual flights were ok. The experience at the airports was the reason for the below average rating. They are not set up to handle transit passengers. The signage in English is poor or nonexistant. The overall level of English for the airport staff is very poor. One goes upstsirs/downstairs nunerous times. Because the second portion of WF858 is domestic flight, the passenger needs to exit the terminal and re-enter as an international passenger. Numerous security and passport lines. I found the movie selection to be poor with few non-violent movies available. Will not fly this route again.

Priority and non-priority were waiting in the buses outside. Long ride through the field , letting taking off plane to go first. Bus by bus was bringing new portions of passengers. Plane departed late.

The plane was extremely hot at the back of the plane, but not in other parts. The service was average and if you asked for something it was done begrudgingly.
