Punti negativi: "Two key issues: 1. Split up seating 2. Required to pick up and check baggage with limited time due to customs check. 1. They split up all four of our seats (despite booking more than 30 days in advance). Our seven (7) year old daughter was by her self. So was our fifteen (15) year old son. When we addressed it to baggage check (part of major issue number 2), they put two seats together, across an aisle, with both children in them. We obviously just sat one of the adults with the seven year old. This was not just us. SEVERAL families had children seated alone and spread all over the plane. ANA needs to require grouped seating for children under thirteen (13) years old with an adult. 2. Tokyo Haneda is the only airport I can think of where I have to pick up and check baggage again just to clear customs. The flights were 1 hour and 45 minutes apart. With nearly an hour dedicated to getting baggage claimed and getting through customs, we barely had time to fix two of our split seats (see issue 1) and rush via a free bus route that took 6 minutes (luckily we were first stop) to get us to domestic terminal 2. We were then lucky again because we made it through security quickly and our gate happened to be right next to the security check we chose. Another side piece: Haneda Domestic Terminal 2 has four security check areas (A-D). We saw no identifying marks indicating which were closest to which gate. Our bags have already been through a bag check process. Feel free to run them through security scans. Don’t make us wait to collect them just to walk them through the customs desk and check them again."

If you are in the US you need to log on to the ANA US site, the JP site is in Japanese and it will not redirect you to US. On line check in can get confused as a lot of time it would not recognize the booking number, you have to use a long 10 digit e-ticket number. My fight from Tokyo to HKG would let me check in and get seat assignment until 24 hours before the scheduled flight. The seat map shows all seat ps were taken without telling what is going on."

The flight was missed in trying to find what went wrong and when called the flight network they told that due to insufficient time between booking and departure time they canceled the reservation. I was telling a friend today, Swiss Air started with drinks, gave us a Parisian baguette sandwich, gave us a healthy breakfast of yoghurt warm croissant butter jam orange juice, drinks again, and several passengers surrounding me got special attention, one woman with a baby, a disabled person, and a teenager that was 6'5" was relaocated by the flight attendant without him even asking to a bulkhead seat for more comfort. You don't see this kind a attention to detail on any US flights or US airlines, so I noticed it. It was as if I was traveling back in the 70's or 80's when Airlines would compete for our dollars with their service. I mentioned to my friend that if I had a choice and Swiss Air was one of the choices, I'd choose Swiss Air over any other airline."

Punti negativi: "It was awful getting boarding passes and paying for check in luggage in Venice. I assumed we couldn't check in early online much like the earlier Lufthansa flight. Then when we got to the airport there were long lines to check in and no machines to self check in. When we finally got to the front of the line the woman said we had to pay for our checked baggage elsewhere and then come back for the boarding passes. Unheard of elsewhere. The people in the office where you pay for checked baggage took their time and chatted and had no sense of urgency. The first woman we spoke to apparently filled out the form incorrectly. We had to rush to get to the plane and we barely made it through long security lines. We almost missed the plane due to the lack of early information and check in, the cumbersome payment process, etc. It was the worst check in process ever."

So, regardless of whether you book your tickets 3 months in advance or the day before, you're not actually guaranteed a seat unless you check in online. We weren't told this until we were at the airport and checked in there that we might not be able to get our pre-booked in advance flight because of over-booking from KLM. We then had to wait and see if there were seats available when boarding. Luckily, there were, but we were not sat together. Not the greatest start to our first holiday together as a couple. We were told that if there weren't seats available, they'd pay for us to get to another airport to fly out, which would have meant a huge delay on the only time off we'd get together this year and have to rearrange our pre-booked and pre-paid living arrangements for the week. All because there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the need to check in online before hand. You'd think if someone checked in at the airport, that would be more of a guarantee that they'd be flying with you that day, but apparently not. Definitely not impressed or happy with this part of the KLM experience. This is the only company that we've had this problem with, they should make it clearer that it is essential to check in online."

"The company did not know how to handle COVID bureaucracy efficiently or even correctly. We were asked to fill in four forms when only one is needed or even checked at all. I had to come in early to the airport, take a COVID test and then wait in the airport departure lobby for almost 1h to check in while waiting for the test results. Given that I spent a substantial amount to get a business ticket, I expected my time to be respected and to have business facilities made available. Once reached, the lounge now has an ordering system instead of self-service. The food was honestly disgusting, cold boiled rice without any salt and some "Spanish chorizo chicken" that had no chorizo and tasted like boiled chicken dropped in reheated tomato sauce. The plane departed one hour late. The business class seat was small, but comfortable. The company sent a boiler plate email apologizing which is something you appreciate the first time and it becomes grating when you get more than one per week."

I missed my connecting flight to Baltimore and was removed from the list even though the Baltimore flight left about 15 minutes late. I had 25 minutes to make it to my connecting flight but was already removed. Airline said I had to be through security within 35 minutes of the flight. I could not get a flight out until the next day."

I am sure they did it in Italian but not every travel speaks italian. getting on bus to airplane was not organized at all. staff let people ahead of me taking their carry on bags larger than my normal size bag but asked me to check in mine. i thought perhaps i am amoung the last and there is no room left. how ever while i was waiting they let many others take their carry on with them. i explained them that i have expensive Murrano glass in my carry on and prefer not to check in or at least provide a tag to mark it fragile. response was that we are out of tag! and i have no choioce. i was very upset theway they trreated me and told them i will file a complain and took their picture. almost by the time i was getting on bus one of crew approached me with at Fragile tag to add to my bag. after all when i received my carry on bag in LAX many of my gifts were smashed and broken."

I guess he got upset that I didn’t wanna check in my bags that he asked me to place my SMALL CARRY ON (my backpack) in the luggage size checker to verify it fit. It did fit except a small part poked out because I had stuffed some souvenirs in there. It was clearly small and could clearly fit under my seat, but he said I had to check it in. This angered me but I kept my cool and walked away. Customer service doesnt start with British Airways."
