Beyond shocked, disappointed and aggravated, this was my first time flying this airlines and I promise you it’s the last. Won’t recommend to anyone."

When I finally found my terminal and got to it, my flight had already took off seven minutes prior. I absolutelyHated my experience flying with Ethiopian air. The seats are uncomfortable on the plane, not all the seats recline back the same level, and when I was eating dinner I decided to eat chicken since I can’t eat beef and halfway through the check in my stomach started her and I looked up the chicken and it was still pink inside."

Punti negativi: "The experience from the airport to the plane to Lome was beyond troubling. If ever you are flying internationally from NYC, never fly from Newark New Jersey. Nevertheless, upon boarding the Ethiopian Airline flight to Lome that was supposed to depart at 9:15 pm, the courtesy of the flight attendants was a bit mundane. My mother and I sat on the plane for about an hour after the time of the depart before inquiring why we have no moved and the doors were closed. The flight attendant responded with, "We shall be moving shortly." The air conditioner was barely on. My mother is battling stage 3 Cancer and is an older woman so, I feared for the safety of her health in such a condition. About 30 minutes passed, and we inquired again. This time with a different flight attendant and she said she just did not know what was going on. Other people on the plane began to panic in a sense as well because like my mother and I, they too had a connecting flight to catch. The pilot did not inform the passengers of what was occurring. So, at this point, all passengers on flight ET509 had been sitting on the plane for an hour and a half. By the time we were sitting on the plane for 2 HOURS with the doors closed the pilot finally informed us that they were waiting for some paperwork. He did not apologize or give more information as to why we were sitting on the plane so long, with practically no AC, and weren't informed about when we would be pulling off. About 10 minutes later, the plane began backing up while people were still standing because they were restless with the wait especially when we had a 10-hour flight ahead of us. The pilot then got on the loudspeaker stating that we will be pulling in the air shortly and for the flight attendants to be seated. The pilot did not apologize for the inconvenience or state how long the flight would be or what time we would land in Lome, Togo. Once we were in the air, there were many safety hazards administered by both the crew and pilot. The seat belt safety information was not given, the exit areas in case of emergency were not discussed, what to do in case of an emergency, where certain equipment would be in case of illness or an emergency, and we were still not informed about the cause of the 2 hours and 15-minute delay. My mother and I consistently checked the flight tracker and it did not show the duration of our flight, our location while flying, no flight information was displayed and as hard working paying passengers we should have had all of the information and not have to continuously ask to get a slight answer. Also, I am a vegan and they did not have food for me. But there was a flight attendant who gave me extra fruit which I greatly appreciated. The flight coming back to Newark was decent, going was the major issue. I pray we are accommodated for these great inconveniences. Because to have spent almost $3,000 and receive this type of treatment is both saddening and disturbing to me."

However, on our shorter flight from Brussels to telaviv, not only was the crew completely inattentive, but they were intentive to some very disturbing things including children who were pulling the hair of other customers and jumping up-and-down in the aisles of the airplane. There was no available entertainment whatsoever. In addition the food was extremely expensive and not particularly tasty. The plane was uncomfortable and smelled atrocious. These 2 vastly different experiences almost made me feel like I was taking 2 different airlines. Please keep consistency."

When a passenger sitting next to me asked for a spoon to eat his meal, the host shrugged his shoulders and didn't come back with one. He was blatantly rude and ignored his passenger. We were also not given blankets on an 7-8 hour flight. It was only on request. People who had requested one were then asked to fold and return their blankets (they were not asked kindly) before landing. The selection of tv, music, and shows on board were terrible as well. Barely any selection. Needless to say, this was the worst service I have ever had on an airline."

The flight should have just been delayed and everyone should have waited in the comfort of the airport terminal to board later rather than suffering. The headrests are horrible. They jut out and but stress on you upper back, and force you to slouch, which hurts your lower back. I am a pretty resilient young dude, but even I was packing my sweatshirt, pillow, and blanket behind my back to make the seat mildly comfortable. A car style seat would have been much much more comfortable. Worst of all, I had a 12 hour layover, and during that time MY BAG DIDN'T EVEN GET PUT ON THE PLANE! I am on a budget so I couldn't buy toiletries and clothes to wear so I stank for days before my bags were located, brought from Toronto to Brussels, and then delivered to where I'm staying in Belgium. This is easily the worst flying experience I have ever had in my life."

By the time I got to my hotel after being given the run around for 2 hours, all of the stores were closed for me to purchase toiletries and the room had no towels. The meal the hotel offered was not edible and I had to purchase food on my own. I was originally suppose to land in NYC Saturday at 6:30pm, but if all goes as planned I will arrive in NYC Monday morning at 1:30am. The staff with this airline was not helpful, very rude, and one of the staff told me it was my problem that I could not get to the hotel they assigned to me."

The crew gave me a hard time when I requested the vegetarian meal, claiming that they didn't have one (except they did, which they produced minutes later). I've never been on an international flight that didn't have a vegetarian option. THEN, we left JFK late, and I missed my connection to another Air Maroc flight by TWO minutes. They shut the gate and wouldn't reopen it. Multiple people needed to make this connection; any other airline would have held the plane for the entire five minutes necessary. In conclusion: terrible service and filthy, uncomfortable planes."
