Overall, there were two issues with Qatar Airways during this trip: they did not give me the seat I had requested and paid for, and then lied when I asked if my new seat was a window."

Interestingly, since all flight attendants were women, about 50% of the flight did listen to them since there were many conservative Arabs onboard from Qatar or Saudi Arabia (i.e., those who are taught not to listen to or respect women). This made for some frustrating sites to witness but it's obviously not the airline's fault. Poor women!"

I purchased a multi-trip and failed to used the ticket I purchased because I had to leave Qatar early since the person I was staying with was disorganized and flew out the country. I then purchased a different ticket with another airline because it was cheaper. Since I did that, they cancelled my whole trip. HOW? And I payed for a service I clearly didn't receive. As a result, stranded, I had to pay an additional $1,125 for a one way ticket home - more than my original round trip multi flight purchase."

My overall experience on this flight from CAI-DXB on Emirates was great because of the wonderful crew, on top was their Supervisor/ Adel A.Hamid El-Hareth. On the contrary my decision after an experience with Emirates on board from DXB-LAX, was never to repeat it due to Crew Supervisor, she was British, she was there on board I guess to teach everybody disciplines with a tone !! Someone exceptional to meet once in life but it may bring you to a decision along with other factors not to fly again with Emirates to LAX. I heard no announcements, maybe because it didn't matter as everyone was crowding the door 15 minutes before boarding began. The agent seemed perturbed, but I've seen it on almost every Italian bound flight. No one wants to wait. It is actually a bit amusing to watch the struggle between boarding policies and a group of people who seem determined to ignore them. The buses were also pretty well packed. More so in Rome than IST. Not much organization in loading at either place. After all the passport control they left us to walk outside to wait for the bus. Maybe you can tell I'm not a fan of remote gates."

Demanded that I except any and all alcohol to give to her to drink. When I am tea total she then continued to abuse me. I asked the steward to move me he just shrugged his shoulders and said there was nowhere else. This is definitely my the worst flight I have experienced."

When we checked in - they asked us to both check in our carry on luggage. The reason why is because they said they don’t think they have enough space for our carry ons. I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

The fold flat seats are comfortable and roomy, the food and meal service, when you want it is convenient if you wish to dine on your schedule, not the airlines and the general high level and friendly service was much appreciated. The "lounge" space they have between the first and business class cabins is fantastic; its a small bar like area where you can get out of your seat and chat with other passengers, watch news, read or whatever, and not be confined to your seat. Overall a great experience, Arrived having slept, eat and drank well."

Punti negativi: "If you are flying from AUH to JFK, they pre-clear you for US Customs. What they don't tell you is that the cut-off to get to the gate is one hour before departure. I took a leisurely stroll down to the gate when he signs said 'boarding soon' and was denied entry to the flight. The next one was in seven hours, so I spent the night in the terminal. The big slap in the face, aside from how rude the staff were: they won't just put you on the next flight. You have to buy a new ticket, full fare. It cost me more to get home than the original round trip ticket did to begin with. Trying to discuss this is fruitless - they are absolutely not interested in helping, but instead use phrases like "you are the one that is wrong" and "why should we pay for your mistake". Essentially, I was held hostage in Abu Dhabi and forced to pay a heavy charge to leave."
