Crew went out of its way to help people board and load bags overhead. They seemed very attentive, and tried to provide extra drink options even."

I heard no announcements, maybe because it didn't matter as everyone was crowding the door 15 minutes before boarding began. The agent seemed perturbed, but I've seen it on almost every Italian bound flight. No one wants to wait. It is actually a bit amusing to watch the struggle between boarding policies and a group of people who seem determined to ignore them. The buses were also pretty well packed. More so in Rome than IST. Not much organization in loading at either place. After all the passport control they left us to walk outside to wait for the bus. Maybe you can tell I'm not a fan of remote gates."

Punti positivi: "Well, let's see, I missed my flight with THY because of a connecting flight with American Airlines, and instead of helping me, they wanted to charge me $3,000 to catch the next flight out. They said it didn't matter who's fault it was. So my entire trip got cancelled. So I can't rate the flight, but unless you can guarantee you won't miss the flight, I would not recommend taking the risk of losing all your money and ruining your trip."

Also, they charge extra for checked luggage, like most airlines today. What's different is that they make it really difficult to pay for your bag. After I waited in line to check in and the agent confirmed my reservation, I was sent across the concourse to a separate Aeromexico office to pay for my bag, rather than simply paying at the check in desk. I was lucky I had the extra time to make it to the gate to catch my flight."

The passenger arrived at the terminal prior to the flight and was told no reservation was made. I ended up paying a extra $100 to get her on the plane, no responsibility accepted by the vendor. Needless to say this was frustrating. Once aboard the flight, the crew waited until we were landing to hand out the proper migratory and customs forms.That caused a lot of anxiety among travelers who weren't familiar with the forms, causing further delays when we had to stand in line for customs and immigration in Mexico City. Many people lost connections and it was not clear by Aeromexico crew where they needed to go to get their new tickets."

American airlines lied over the phone and was even more rude in person. JOKE"

Food was terrible- even for Coach class - I don't always expect a gourmet meal, but BA was consistently good in the past, so I had positive expectations. My personal entertainment system did not work properly so I could not use it."

This changed the terminal I was to go to and the gate in which our Italian non-english speaking driver was to meet us at. This impacted seating selection, as well. Was forced to buy a premium seat when I realized the seating chart did not appear when I purchased the tickets. Also, flight was three hours late upon arrival. I understand safety is paramount and am grateful we eventually were able to find another plane, but it begs to speculate if things would have been smoother on a BA plane."

The worst part about this flight was that I traveled with my girlfriend and when I went to check in, 24 hours before, there were only single seats left and there were so many open seats together that were considered “preferred” and had to pay $80 for just one “preferred” seat just so we can sit together on an 8 hour long flight. The seat didn’t even have any extra legroom or anything, it was a normal seat. American Airlines is just trying to squeeze money out of anything they can."

Extra kudos for crew for creative swapping to move me to an emergency row seat when I discovered that my **extra-charge** aisle seat was damaged and unusable. Food & beverage service -- adequate, timely (though some nutrition concerns.) Good, current entertainment selections."

I fear for his training experience with this group of women. One of the lavatories was out of order {....on an international flight! Are you kidding!?!}. I think that they searched for the most antiquated plane that could limp across the ocean for this flight. Nine hours of pure discomfort. My poor 71 year old mother! Zero leg room. Tiny little screen for movies on the ceiling of the middle row. trays were not clean. We paid extra for our seats and wondered how bad the seats were for those that didn't. My mother and I determined that this was ranked as one of the worst flight experiences we have ever had. We are grateful for an amazing experience for our return flight or we would have reconsidered ever flying AA again."

I couldn't put both feet under the seat in front of me. The food was bad tasting and overly processed. We were fed a lean cuisine. The entertainment was from mounted tv's in the aisle. At this point, all planes crossing the ocean should have individual tvs for a customer to watch. They had this 15 years ago, how do they not have it now."

Punti negativi: "Everything else! We were first sold a British airlines flight, and then we got switched to American Airlines. I don't know if that is actually an okay thing for them to do. When we got onto to plane we were stuck on the runway for over 2 1/2 hours, where the outside temperature was 95 degrees and the AC in the plane didn't work. The delay was all due to a mechanical difficulty with the engine, this did not give us peace of mind when flying over the atlantic. while up in the air my newly wedded wife and I were hoping maybe we could watch a movie to help keep our minds off the creaking of the wings, the pool of sweat from the delay, and the grumpy flight attendants. Seeing as it was a 9 hour international flight, you would have expected some sort of entertainment. Maybe a personal TV.... nope. Maybe a community TV... nope. At least they have to have a radio....... nope. All we got were our two thumbs to twiddle. After a much needed nap. We woke up hoping maybe for a hot breakfast, but to put the cherry on top of some terrible ice cream, we got a mediocre cold breakfast. All in all I will not fly American Airlines again. I would happily and quickly pay double for any other airlines but them. It's such a poor reprisentation of our country."

All in all the flight was fine being an overnight flight, but I would have expected the better aircraft on the long haul flight and the less comfortable aircraft on the short haul. Still good value for money and I'm would definitely fly Air Europa again!"

No in flight entertainment as there is no place to put a headphone into. They tell you to use your smart phone. The flight attendants disappear and really are not there for any reason I could see except to find ways to charge you for something. When they do show up they basically try to ignore you."

We sat in the emergency exit row and it was the first time an attendant ever went over evacuation procedures for sitting there. (We always try to get the exit row bc I am six feet tall.) He was personable and funny and made us comfortable after waiting a long time to finally board."
Punti negativi: "We couldn't find it! Our boarding pass said go to Gate ABC however that's not a thing. Each Gate A, Gate B, and Gate C had like 60 options. The crew from the previous flight didn't mention how to find connections or where to go and when we asked airport employees, they took one look at our ticket and said they didn't understand what Gate ABC meant. We saw a board and discovered it was Gate B65---a 45 minute run/walk away. We ran through the airport. We heard our flight being announced as final boarding so we ran even faster. When we got there, the attendant asked us if we were transfers and we confirmed. She then said that she was about to call our names. We were relieved we made it in time. Then we got on the bus to get to the train and waited 35 minutes!!! Why were we rushed through the airport only to wait on the bus?? Other people boarding after us did not look rushed at all. Also, the female crew member kept telling my mom to move her purse. My mom explained that it was attached to her outfit and that she wore it through takeoff but the attendant didn't listen because she just said again that my mom had to stow it. But it was part of her clothes! It couldn't detach! My mom explained again but the attendant said back "it is our policy to store purses." It was frustrating bc she either wasn't listening or didn't understand even when my mom showed her it was attached. She just stood there looking at my mom. It was attached to her jacket so my mom finally said whatever and had to take off her entire jacket (scarf was also attached) and put it in the overhead bins all because the woman seemed like she didn't understand English."
