Other airlines such as emirates, ethiad, virgin Australia all make a person feel welcome with great attention to detail international flight from Europe to the US. I will never fly air Europa again as I feel they are dishonest. The charge for the headphones is ridiculous when the entertainment is limited (most tv series will have one episode and the shows are old) The food was sub par. The sandwich with one sliver of ham was pathetic and the main meal was lacking with only chicken and rice, a small desert, no fruit/ salad and or crackers with cheese which is the norm on international flights."

For checkin in 1 bag at the counter! The website was deceptive in its wording with 1 baggag is free and the rest has a fee. Therefore, i understood that i didn't have to purchase a check in luggage fee. That right there is living expense that I depended on for my trip. Thanks Air Europa! The check-in agent and another Air Europa representative at the Madrid airport did little to anull my fee that I felt mislead about. That was terrible customer service! I tried to give my flight a chance, but the touch down landing was probably one of the worst jolted sloppy touchdowns I've experienced. I looked around to see other's surprised reaction. I don't know of how Air Europa stocks or current state of economy are; but after dropping €60 for 1 checked in luggage, I'd expect a free beverage or light snack provided. Even the hot tea was €2.50. Im not happy and warning other's not to use this airline."

( It would have been nice if the told us they would/could hold the plane). afyer our sweaty group arrived, we were stuck on the tarmac an additional 55 minutes because of traffic."

In fact the whole thing, including the newspaper holder and the screen were broken. The flight attendant was not shocked by this at all, simply suggested to use the seat next to me if no one was using it. The entertainment on these flights is awful! Only a few very old movies, and you have to pay 3 euros for the head phones. The planes they have are quite old and broken all around."

The plane was at the gate two hours before departure; but the flight is delayed due to 'late arrival' of the equipment??? Air bus 330, circa 1970. toilets were worn out; tv screens were flickering (can't even see what's on the screen on the walls), wifi cutting in and out, meal was poor; main dish, bread and desert, that's it. In Madrid, after the flight from Zurich landing in terminal E, it was a 45 min walk to terminal A, international terminal. No bus, no assistance, no one to ask how to get there if one is in a hurry. no info desks to be found anywhere. I can't even imagine for a disabled person. THe airport crew with a cart would not give a ride to an old lady with cain. Wow. It is the worst airport anywhere I have flown out of. The check in process was less than good or efficient. I would not fly this airline nor connect through Madrid."

The crew from the previous flight didn't mention how to find connections or where to go and when we asked airport employees, they took one look at our ticket and said they didn't understand what Gate ABC meant. We saw a board and discovered it was Gate B65---a 45 minute run/walk away. We ran through the airport. We heard our flight being announced as final boarding so we ran even faster. When we got there, the attendant asked us if we were transfers and we confirmed. She then said that she was about to call our names. We were relieved we made it in time. Then we got on the bus to get to the train and waited 35 minutes!!! Why were we rushed through the airport only to wait on the bus?? Other people boarding after us did not look rushed at all. Also, the female crew member kept telling my mom to move her purse. My mom explained that it was attached to her outfit and that she wore it through takeoff but the attendant didn't listen because she just said again that my mom had to stow it. But it was part of her clothes! It couldn't detach! My mom explained again but the attendant said back "it is our policy to store purses." It was frustrating bc she either wasn't listening or didn't understand even when my mom showed her it was attached. She just stood there looking at my mom. It was attached to her jacket so my mom finally said whatever and had to take off her entire jacket (scarf was also attached) and put it in the overhead bins all because the woman seemed like she didn't understand English."

Just so you know, these people sell more tickets than the number of available seats they have in economy class and they rather to leave their overbooked passengers on the ground than to put them (or anybody else) in business class seats. Let alone that the leg room in economy class is ridiculous even for average sized people and I was really uncomfortable. But this is not the end of the story. They lost my suitcase, and at this moment, seven hours after I landed, they do not know where it is and they cannot give me any more information. I will from now on avoid this company as much as I can and I would suggest everybody does the same."

Add all this to the saga that was the outband flight and you’ll understand why the whole plane burst into laughter when the crew announced “welcome to Gatwick, apolagies for the delay, and we look forward to flying with you again”. Shocking service! Never again!"
