Not too bad. 3 weeks before my vacation to Myanmar, China airlines moved my return connecting flight from Yangon to Taipei a day early, which meant I would need to cancel hotel reservations in Yangon and would be stranded in Taipei overnight. I called China Airlines and the only option was to move my 2nd flight a day early. No apologies or reason why my connecting flight was changed a day earlier."

Since every single passenger has to go through a face to face session with a physical person, CI should really have more personnel available at LAX for the check-in procedures. The business lounge, provided by Korean Airlines, is a big disappointment. Food not worth mentioning. Going through security at TPE for passengers in transit there is no short line. The only line is very, very long, although quick enough. The facility for this procedure should also be renewed."

It's always about the airport problem with crowded passengers or in size not aeroplane. Everything is about time control . ICN is quite large in scale so I couldn't use duty free shop due to so many passengers and the spacious hallways even though I had 2hours . perhaps you gotta presume it as 3hours for enough time . so I had to throw out my lotion or moisturizer at ICN .pfff I wasted my money :p"

We rec'd an email from Kayak saying we could check in 36 hrs early - not so. Even at the 24 hr mark, we were unable to check in via Finnair - had to go to British Airways. Finnair was not represented at either airport - British Airways. On the return, British Airways canceled our flight (2 hrs before takeoff), and we could not get a non-stop flight home. This meant that we had to change terminals, retrieve our bags at the layover, recheck, etc. which of course, added 3 hrs to the original length of the trip. Where's our compensation? We paid for a round trip non-stop flight."

They told me it would be free if I called 24hrs before the flight. I called 24hrs before and they told me they could not book my seats because the airport owned the seating. My first flight was with American Airlines, they gave me a boarding pass, however for my leg with British Airways, I had to go get ANOTHER boarding pass to board the flight. This airline was very inconvenient and I felt scammed booking with them. I would not recommend this airline to anyone!"

Abbiamo dovuto aspettare più di mezz’ora dopo l’imbarco perché non tornava il conto dei passeggeri anche perché al gate i controlli sono stati molto sommari fatti con poca attenzione. Se l’imbarco fosse stato scaglionato facendo imbarcare prima i passeggeri delle ultime file si sarebbe potuto velocizzare di molto creando meno confusione

Then there was no sign for where we should go since upper deck on 747 so we went in "economy" line as indicated on ticket and then was sent to correct line when we got to the front, wasting more time. The seatrs were the most uncomfortable I have ever beeon on for a long flight. I also paid extra to be in the exit row, to have people constantly congregating in front of us."

We were all trapped on board for about 4 or so hours without much communication from the crew or captain which made me very anxious. We arrived 5 hrs late and it put my whole trip in jeopardy. Based on this experience, I eont be inclined to use this airline again for future trip planning. This airline will need to work hard to earn my trust back because i felt physically and emotionally unsafe throughout the experience, many times."

Then we had to climb steep steps in extremely hot weather. We were then delayed for a hour in the plane in very hot conditions as the plane had its air conditioning off and the ground air conditioning was not put on. We were swearing in the heat for an hour!! We arrived at our destination and hour and half late!!"

Traveling with the Chinese airlines , their service superior to the US Airlines , they are much more friendly and the seats are comfortable , In the past I flew with United , now ,United Airline will become history for me .

Punti negativi: "The total unprofessional service/ way we have been treated. Never again I will fly with this company. 2 hours delay from Amsterdam for a unknown reason as their English is very poor. As we took off we shared our concern for our connection in Guangzhou, after managing to find someone able to speak and understand English (unbelievable on an international flight) we have been told that would be fine and eventually worst case scenario there is another flight during the day. When we arrived we have been told nothing (even though we shared our concern from the beginning, they didn’t care at all, connection from the same company), when we went out of the plane we ask a crew member in the exit corridor who replied like annoyed of the question that’s fine take next on the left and next on the right (more with gesture than with an English language) when we arrived after running at the transfer gate we asked about the connection to Sydney the first staff told us that the gate was already closed and it’s too late, we then asked what to do : go in this queue and didn’t want to speak anymore. When we arrived at the desk we have been told gate is closed, wait on the side we’ll see later, we asked when and have been replied later....after 30min we have been told that there is no other flight before the day after (same company, different speech...) and wait again....there is another flight the day after in the morning with 6 seats available only...for the rest we don’t know we have to check but it’s gonna be hard because it’s the high season : Unbelievable as we were 15-20 people in this situation...after a couple of hour we have been offered to travel via Vietnam with a stop of 9 extra hours before having another flight of 9hours if we didn’t accept this one they didn’t know... Never ever again with this company and this airport..."

Punti positivi: "They assigned me the last seat abutting the bathroom in the back of the plane. It was the smallest seat with zero leg room. The seat itself had zero cushion. And because the back of the seat is against the wall of the bathroom it could not be leaned back either. The entertainment screen is so close to my face I could not look at it directly. I was probably the only Black guy in there. I wonder how they found me that seat. It was a Nonstop flight, I will fly China Southern every chance I get because I just want to get from point A to point B. But, I'll be asking more questions about my seat assignment before accepting it."

Punti negativi: "It wasn't super clear from our booking that we'd go to Wuhan and then Guangzhou instead of a straight shot! Seats were a bit uncomfortable on the Dreamliner for such a long-haul flight. Also, the food wasn't great but it's abundantly supplied, even a night-time snack if you asked."

'No time' to load bags is kind of an odd and slightly unacceptable reason to not load baggage onto a plane. Airlines close check-in for flights 30 mins before departure time to ensure that all bags make it onto the plane. I was 3 hours early. Don't know why they 'didn't have time'. They also broke my friend's bag."

There was a completely empty Duty Free store, and no available food options - even though it was in the middle of the day. My flight departed from Gate 2, International Terminal. The entertainment options in the flight were plenty, however, the sound on my system did not work. Therefore, I was not able to use the system throughout the entire 14 hour flight."

I usually prefer to sleep because of lack of entertainment but this time I watched 4 movies on the way to SFO. I had a layover in China for 14 hours and I thought I was gonna stay in the airport but they arranged me a free hotel. They didn't mention in the email but I could rest well and they even had a shuttle bus to the airport in the morning. It was a great experience."

Wine served in tiny cups (two oz?) and ran out after the first serving. China Southern is also impossible to reach--they don't answer phones, there's no website that I could find. So seat assignments were made at airport, and each time we got seats right next to bathroom with loud flushing sounds all night long. Terrible excuse for an airline."
