It was not efficient and I felt like a burden asking for help when there was nothing else I could do on my own."

They offered drinks to the 2 people flying "business class" (they were just sitting in the front but amongst the economy class seats) at the very beginning, but then waited to serve everyone else, but as it was late, most people were already sleeping. We arrived an hour late."

Flight delays happen all of the time but the real issue was that there was very little information shared with us as to why, how long, etc. We ended up sitting on the tarmac for more than an hour without so much as an offer of water by the crew. When we did get into the air, it took the crew a full hour to reach all of the rows with refreshments, none of which (including water) were complimentary."

We did wind up checking our bags, but there was no option to do self check and have boarding passes printed at a kiosk, so everyone had to go through the line and the line was incredibly slow. There were just as many lines for people who had checked in online and just needed to drop their bags - this made no sense to me! There should only have been one line for that and the rest should have been dedicated to getting the rest of the passengers checked in."

Also, usually disabled passengers are given the opportunity to pre-board -- the wheelchair didn't arrive until quite late, so I was one of the last people, if not the last, on the flight, something that makes getting settled a lot more difficult than when I've been allowed to pre-board. I realize that wheelchair attendants are employed by the airport, not the airline, but he gate agent seemed unconcerned about the fact that nobody had arrived to pick up wheelchair passengers despite the fact that everyone else was already boarding. Finally, the flight departed/arrived quite late, which meant that I had about 10 minutes to spend in the Heathrow Club World lounge before having to wait for a wheelcehair attendant to take me to my connecting flight."

I understand this happens but of the employees working, only 2 were checking in bags and 3 others were just standing there chatting and talking into walky talkies. * Flight from Rome to Heathrow was late for no apparent reason, landed 45 minutes prior to our connection flight. I inquired with our flight attendant about the potential to make boarding and he said they would let us know. We landed on the tarmac and had to be bussed to the terminal. Not once after we landed did the flight crew mention one word about connecting flights. Never have I had that experience in 44 years. Additionally, there was no direction regarding priority for boarding the busses. When we finally entered the terminal, an airline employee displayed a sign calling for passengers connecting on a flight to San Diego which was taking off just 10 minutes after ours to San Jose. A choice few of these folks were driven over to their boarding gate while many of us were left behind. * When we made it the recommended "Fastrack Express" the attendant informed us that we had already been cancelled out of our connecting flight to San Jose (this was 30 minutes before take off)! We were directed to go wait in line to re-book our flights. * After an hour in line we learned that the couple behind us had already been re-booked onto that evening flight to SJ, which would have been the next out. I wonder how that happens when you are further behind in line? After waiting 4.5 hours in line. We were told that and approximately 3 other convenient flights which would have been a possibility were no longer available since we had been made to wait for so long. There were no places to sit, no numbering system, we did not eat at all that day until 11pm and that was after waiting another 45 minutes to get our passports stamped and then stupid bus ride. *We were forced to miss hosting my best friend's baby shower the next morning. We were sent on an hour long bus trip to another airport in Gatwick to sleep in a hotel for 6 hours and then return bus trip back to Heathrow only to fly into an airport which is an hour away from our home as as opposed to 10 minutes. *Not once in all that time did a manager come out and let customers know the cause of the inconvenience. The window service to re-book was haughty and entitled, rather than thoughtful and efficient. I was insulted by the lack of customer service, the shoddy organization, communication and lack common sense. The only saving grace was that they booked us on a different airline for our return flight where we received decent service. We incurred extra charges due to the change in arrival location - all around failure on British Airways. Not happy at all."

Throughout this whole experience, no apologies, no "let me make it up to you"...American did absolutely nothing. What's even worse...the person attending him on his way back, knowing he is a retired Veteran of 25years, didn't even have the courtesy of saying "Thank you for your service". Lets just say he will NEVER use American again. I'm disgusted with how American treats their clients. My recent trip just confirmed that American cares very little to nothing on customer service or customer satisfaction."

The small, extra comforts were wonderful and I wish everyone had them while risking their lives together over the ocean - especially the extra room At times, on the way over I felt a claustrophobic panic. But to stay positive, they were kiind, sympathetic, funny, sweet. I appreciate them."

On our return flight we were delayed on the tarmac for over an hour with no air conditioning, they originally said they were waiting for a signature but then said that there was something wrong with the engines that help us take off, then the cabin filled with a fuel smell, then they said they had brought the wrong item for the repair and we were waiting for the correct one. When we finally took off my husband's screen didn't work yet again and this was a 9 hour flight. The flight attendant said that some of the screens hadn't worked for a while ( probably cheaper to hand out useless discounts than to fix them.). We received another 10% off card, which we cannot combine or transfer, again useless. We missed our connection because of the delay, they booked us on another flight but because they didn't tell us that we had to pick up our luggage or where (it was on a different carousel than the rest of the luggage from our flight) and that we had to go through customs we (and many others) missed that flight too. We finally got a flight out the next morning and they put us up at a hotel. We both had to miss another day of work and it was quite an ordeal. My husband's screen worked for almost all of that last flight before it seized up. We didn't bother to report it that time since another 10% off coupon wasn't going to do us any good. Overall it is concerning that Air Canada doesn't seem to be maintaining their planes in optimal condition and that their idea of compensation involves them making even more money from me. Never again."

I arrived New York stranded, at 1:30pm, with no ability to continue to Boston. I had to spend so much money to get me to Boston. It was a horribly long day. Over 25 hours on the road, counting when I arrived Rome airport and when I finally got home."

The beverage service was good and they came around a couple of extra times with water. The flight staff were friendly and helpful. My son is special needs and they were very accommodating."
Punti negativi: "Boarding this flight was a zoo. Instead of orderly calling zones as usual, it was an every-man-for-himself atmosphere. And then boarding was actually onto a bus which carried us out to the plane. Boarding was in front and back of the plane, but deplaning was only at the front of the plane, which took forever and we had a connecting flight. Word of advice: don't try to connect with less than two hours if you're heading to the US. We had at least four checkpoints to go through. (But that clearly wasn't on Air Canada and they, in fact, had someone at Customs watching out for us.)"

Punti positivi: "The costumer service desk in Toronto on the way home was very curtious and helpful. They helped us get back on our original flight home, avoiding the 6 hour layover caused by their rescheduling after we got to Rome."
Punti negativi: "2 of our 4 flight legs were changed last minute creating great difficulties making the first flight and causing a 6 hr layover on the way home. The crews to and from Rome acted like they had to be there and wished they weren't. that made the flight much less pleasant. The line through customs in Rome was 90 minutes long, way understaffed."

Punti positivi: "Flight crew was friendly and helpful. Montreal is a very manageable airport. Staff there was also courteous and efficient. Food was very good for airline fare. Renting an IPad for $10 to watch movies in-flight was a reasonable option for distraction on a 9 hour flight. We were quite pleased with Air Canada and will not hesitate to book with them again."

Punti negativi: "The baggage checkin was awful. The boarding check in was awful. The security check in was awful. The customs check in was awful. Understaffed and inefficient. The baggage conveyor backed up. The same staff that checked in our baggage was the same person who then ran upstairs to check us in at gate and it was all hand done and not computer scanned. No check in kiosks to make ticket checkin faster. Lines were all backed up and I barely made flight and my connection. Many either missed flights it connection or plane was held up to get people to flights. The lady at customs check in was good trying to handle the back ups but the shrine was severely backed up and understaffed. The pilots made good time and handle the turbulence well. Staff on board did well with timing of food and drinks Entertainment on board was awful. Didn't find out until on board on 8 hour international flight that needed an iPad with downloaded app for entertainment and therefore I had three kids that had nothing to do. Never did I have such an issue with an international flight that was so poorly managed. So disappointed."

Why the plus is not on our devices?? 3. Alcohol is not for free. even those small wine bottles!! 4. main meal is sucks and very poor."

Punti negativi: "At check-in, we were told to be at the gate at 11:30 (although the ticket itself said boarding began at 11:55). The gate was changed at the last minute (and if they announced it, we never heard it) so everyone had to move gates. Then the boarding didn't begin until noon after all, and there was no announcement from the staff as to what the delay was, so people were worried about making their connections, The boarding experience was poorly organized and communications were inadequate overall."

Punti negativi: "THE WORST!!!!! I never write reviews but this flight was a nightmare. I'm so frustrated. We flew Air France from Rome to Boston coming back from our honeymoon. First of all, the flight was late. The staff was so unhelpful. The agent while boarding was so rude and made us check our luggage at the gate. It fit the correct size for a carry-on but she made us check it anyway and did not give us a receipt. Of course it never arrived in Boston. We tried to file a claim, but without a receipt they said nothing could be done. It was their mistake- so frustrating! Other passengers bags were missing as well. This is why we took only a carry-on. After dealing with the claims office, which was of no help, we had to miss our bus home because the process took forever. After calling an Air France representative, she was also extremely nasty on the phone and told us to file another document for a reference number. Upon filling out the form (twice) we still did not receive a reference number. I will NEVER fly this airline again."

Punti negativi: "On return trip from Rome, E-Ticket indicated Terminal 3; it should have said 5, which was quite a distance away. Air Canada agent in Rome assured us baggage will travel straight through to Seattle; not so as we had to pick them up in Montreal. In general, Air Canada agents were very helpful. In Montreal, an agent went out of his way to help us locate one of our bags. Travel from Europe through Canada to the US is very, very cumbersome; i.e., three security checks and the countless times we had to display our passports."

Punti negativi: "I really would have appreciated knowing just how far I needed to walk in order to get to the connecting flight gate. No one warned the passengers that a 3K hike was ahead of them ( I measured it on my walking app.) After an 8 1/2 hr flight that walk was quite an ordeal. I had just 25 minutes to wait at the gate, out of a three hr. layover. an explanation of the passport control/customs process would have avoided a lot of confusion."
