When we boarded the plane, we saw multiple people whose carry-on looked suspiciously over the weight limit. We felt singled out. SAS does not care if you have flown on another transatlantic carrier, which allows more than 8 kg. Then you need to start emptying your hand luggage at checkin. The whole checkin process was a big mess, the contract employees eg. at Heathrow do not help much (they probably do not do this to any other airline). SAS staff does not remind you to take your IDs and passport, medications etc. from your hand luggage, which is then checkedin luggage as opposed to hand luggage. It is obvious that transatlantic passengers have more hand luggage than many local passengers."

We were directed to the gate for questions. No one manned the gate until right before boarding. We spent the entire time in a panic trying to figure out how else we could get to our destination in time for a wedding. When we finally talked to someone at the counter, he said this was just normal procedure to be able to shuffle seats. This is not normal. I have flown with many airlines, and I cannot imagine it is ever "normal" policy to tell people they have been downgraded to standby until just before the flight. So much anxiety. Also, the flight was delayed, and the crew had no communication about gates or any other information (within their OWN AIRLINE) for those with connecting flights."
Punti negativi: "The SAS Supervisor at the gate permitted all preferred-level economy class ticketed passengers to board irrespective of the amount of their carry-on items - in some cases as many as three different items and many over-sized as per the measuring box located at the gate walkway, before conducting a bag-by-bag weight check on all the remaining economy ticketed passengers. Any carry-on item over 8 kgs was refused access to the airplane, and had to be unpacked at the gate in full view of other passengers to remove all electronic devices or breakable items, prior to being left with the gate agent to be placed on the plane as checked luggage. This procedure was conducted in an officious and highly non-customer friendly way, and was embarrassing to those passengers who had to "strip down" their single bag, in particular for female passengers who had overnight clothing and toiletries. A more practical and customer appropriate approach should replace such a draconian procedure."

"Flight crew was excellent and I appreciated being addressed as "Dear Passenger." Connecting to wifi was difficult/confusing (and a bit pricey, but that's not unique to Icelandair). No free snacks (beverages only). Passengers were seated with plenty of space between us (flight was not full). Very comfortable economy class on the Boeing 767-300s, less so on the 737-MAXs. While my first flight was delayed due to weather, the connection and return flights were on time and even landed early. If you connect at the Keflavik Airport, do buy the Nordic Deli Green Energy Smoothie--so delicious and refreshing!"

Please think about just how many plastic bottles are being needlessly created and then thrown away EVERY DAY! The water is apparently from some very good spring in Iceland... but think about all the plastic bottles that are going to was up on your shores EVERY DAY! It's a very bad trade-off if you ask me. (Which you did via this questionnaire.) And on a loosely related point... At Reykjavik airport (which was a packed chaotic mess the day we passed through) I could only find ONE fountain (downstairs by the toilets) where passengers could refill drinking bottles. I went down three times to fill our bottle and every time there was a line of at least 10 folks. Clearly people want to use refillable bottles but it sure makes it hard when there is only one location to do it. Throw in at least a half dozen of them around the airport please."

This is not an IcelandAir problem but likely an issue of Reykavik airport being under-prepared for the ginormous amount of visitors and layovers."

The planes for all 4 of my flights were late vintage with firm seats (US carriers are stretching out the time to replace seat cushions until they are completely formless), shaped correctly (for lumbar support - big deal if your in a ancient US carrier seat for 5+ hours) and mid size capacity (less people means getting on/off and using the facilities is just a little faster)."

To offset the relatively low cost of the tickets the flight crew is forced to push merchandise and their travel clubs which is a small inconvenience (in English and Icelandic). When booking, I would have really considered a no additional cost layover in Iceland had I known about it - hard to believe I'm asking for another sales pitch but its true."

Punti negativi: "In summary: The cheap ticket is not worth the stress and aggravation. The details: 1) Lost luggage - Over a dozen passengers were told that the pilot deliberately took off knowing that not all of the bags were loaded. We were lucky that after some Facebook shaming, Icelandair was able to locate our bags. We got them the next day, albeit after losing 24 hours of our trip. We were fortunate because our schedule was flexible and we could stay a little longer than intended to pick up our bags from the airport. We met other passengers at the airport who had been waiting for their bags for more than 2 days. Ground crew told us that 16 luggage carts needed to be used to bring in all of the late/lost bags. Worst of all - no compensation offered whatsoever. 2) Flight delays - Two of the four flights we took on Icelandair were late. There was no explanation for the delay, and the airline has so few people on the ground that it could not update the gate or boarding time information timely. This resulted in a mad dash through the airport to get to the gate when the plane finally arrived. We were given no notice but told to get to the gate for immediate departure, as if we were the ones running late. 3) Boarding/stampeding - I have never been on a flight where there is absolutely zero order to the boarding process. Almost every other airline assigns boarding zones/groups but Icelandair simply opens up the doors and lets chaos ensue. Even if the airline does not want to go through the cost of changing its systems to assign boarding zones, it would not cost a thing for the gate agents to simply board from the back of the plane to the front. This is why the boarding process took twice as long as normal and even for the two "on time" flights, we still took off and landed late."

Through my previous trips with various airlines we had no pb with that until we reached the check in counter, the lady very politely explained that she has to charge me 35£ back and forth for excessive wait on the bag which I found outrageous so i had to squeeze a bunch of stuff in the hand luggage to send it as a cargo Then she infomed us that the plane is gonna be late for 1h while eventually it was delayed more than 2 h On the plane the staff was very friendly however the variety of food is so limited and the hostess passed by in the middle of flight with the duty free cart decorated as a Christmas tree while the lights were off and everyone was sleeping Finall we reach the airport, the bags took 45 minutes to reach us I love Iceland but i will not book with the same airline again"

The airport was completely jammed with people waiting to fly out to the point you could not access the bathrooms. My checked bag also must have been left outside in significant rain for quite some time because it was soaked completely through with water. I had a thick wool blanket on top as well as my clothes in packing cubes and it was all soaked with water. Terrible!! You get what you pay for."

"The company did not know how to handle COVID bureaucracy efficiently or even correctly. We were asked to fill in four forms when only one is needed or even checked at all. I had to come in early to the airport, take a COVID test and then wait in the airport departure lobby for almost 1h to check in while waiting for the test results. Given that I spent a substantial amount to get a business ticket, I expected my time to be respected and to have business facilities made available. Once reached, the lounge now has an ordering system instead of self-service. The food was honestly disgusting, cold boiled rice without any salt and some "Spanish chorizo chicken" that had no chorizo and tasted like boiled chicken dropped in reheated tomato sauce. The plane departed one hour late. The business class seat was small, but comfortable. The company sent a boiler plate email apologizing which is something you appreciate the first time and it becomes grating when you get more than one per week."

The person that picked me up at the aircraft from London was terrific, l was taken to the terminal and told that another team member would take me to the aircraft. No one showed up until the aircraft was fully boarded, then he left me at the beginning of the ramp instead of wheeling me to the aircraft. I was very disappointed! I was so disappointed I didn’t wait for a pickup at the airport in Amsterdam. I regret it, because I’m in so much pain!"

In the end, we had to put in a little plastic bag everything valuable we had in the baggage, though on the plane there was plenty of space available in the overhead lockers."

But being the NEO 320 the seat was extremely comfortable and for someone who doesn't sleep on flights I nearly nodded off a few times. Knee room was ok but overall the seat was very comfortable and I could have easily spent a few more hours in that seat."

She could use her common sense and be more understanding as I told her the zip in my bigger bag wouldn't close. The smaller bags didn't even weigh 15 kilos. We then had to pay 38 pounds for absolutely nothing. After we paid She looked at the bags as if she knew she was wrong as they were so small it really didn't justify that amount of money. We payed then she said nothing and angrily told us to speak to customer services and get out of the que as there were more other ppl in line. I will never ever use easyjet again. Will go to British Airways or raynair. Easyjet greed for money is ridiculous."

Cosi' anche quello di oggi, e' partito in orario ed e' atterrato 5 minuti prima. Il volo comunque e' stato rilassante.Bravo ai piloti...."
