Punti negativi: The rental rate did NOT include mandatory third party liability insurance of 24/day. They would not let me rent the car without it.

Punti negativi: First of all, the pick-up experience was horrible. Standing for 1 hour in the small room and just 2 staff working there with that many customers. When I got the reservation, it said $3 per day. But over there, they asked for a minimum $25 for insurance. I told them I have my own insurance with the credit card. They told me I cannot use them here in Mexico! I accepted to use their insurance. Then they bring me a form to sign and decline my insurance with my credit card and accept their insurance! I was confused. If my insurance does not work in Mexico, why you asked me to decile that insurance? Since I was too tired, I accepted. So per day $24 plus $2 for renting the car, total $26 without tax. But when I wanted to pay, I saw the bill of $176 for 4 days! I told them "how you calculated?". They said $104 plus taxes!!!! Just imagine almost 70% for tax. Seriously????? It was a horrible experience with them. Just imagine the $6 bill amount when I booked online turned out to $176. And this is how they are lying to the customer. I declined that bill and did not get the car since I found they are not honest with the customers.

Punti negativi: When I got there they tried to rip me with the cost for insurance. I walked out and did not rent the car. It was the worst car rental experience I have ever had in 31 years renting a car in Cancun.

Punti negativi: Totally ripped me off. The Kayak shown price was $21 for the weekend, INCLUDING taxes. That’s why I chose this reservation—even though it was a dinky little car, that was a fantastic sale price. When I arrived, there was mandatory insurance, a different rate, new taxes, and mandatory prepaid tank of gas, all resulting in a price of $175 for the weekend—almost 9 times more than I had planned to pay. By the time I was there it was too late to change to another company... no need to spend more hours of an already short weekend getaway shopping for rental cars. But this was totally deceptive and I’m very unhappy. Kayak should not be listing Alamo’s deceptive prices in the future.

Punti negativi: I put in that I wanted the car from the Cancun airport and that is NOT what your website did for me costing me more money, $60. I had to pay $40 to take a taxi to get my car and a $20 fee to return it to the airport where I wanted to return in.
