“The food was absolutely delicious, cooked by a chef with ten years experience. It was served in our room. The setting was divine: a small two hundred year old house, set a Japanese garden. The Onsen was perfect for two people (we were the only guests staying that night). We were given free transport to & from Magome. Thank you Masaya.”

“Amazing food, the best we have had in our 2 weeks in Japan. Wonderful host family, look after you so well. Great access to Nakasendo Highway, kindly taken to the start of the Highway and collected from the station after our walk. Beautiful well kept garden, looked so good in the autumn leaves. Cosy houses and comfy futons. Just the best Japan experience.”

“The service was fantastic! We were picked up at the station and given a map of the Nakasendo trail. As we were going directly to Magome and walking it that day, they dropped us off there and took our luggage back to our room. Later that afternoon, after walking the trail and taking the train back to Nakatsuwaga, they picked us up a second time. Meals were well prepared and taken In our rooms, again with great service. As we were one of only two couples staying there that night, each couple had one of the two private baths to themselves. The gardens are beautiful and the view of the fall leaves right outside our windows were wonderful.”

“Very welcoming and friendly staff. We had our own small Japanese house, the room was so peaceful and relaxing. The meals were really delicious, dinner especially was amazing. It was really cute as they brought in each dish little by little, and it was always a different person from the staff, so we got to briefly meet everyone! We were there to walk the Nakesendo, the lodging is a bit far from the start of the trail, but they have a small bus to carry people around with which was great! They came to pick us up at the train station, then in the evening they brought us Naegi Castle to see the sunset. The next day they stopped us at the train station again so we could put our bags in a coin-locker, then dropped us off at the start of the trail.”
