Should have kept driving to find another place

This was the only hotel left with vaccancy due to Spring Break travelers, and we waited until very late to find a hotel.

There was visible debre all over the floor (had not been vaccumed in a while). The sink had stuff in it which rinsed away when I splashed water over it--clearly it had not even been wiped out since the last people. Toilet had poo smears inside. This was supposed to be a remodeled, non-smoking room, yet there was a strong cigarette smoke stench. No mattress cover, only a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and worn brown blanket on top. There were empty alcohol bottles along the walkway, the grass was weedy and not mowed recently. Do not stay here unless you take extreme sanitary precautions. I had hoped that since the supposed owner had responded to others' reviews, things would have improved, but that was not the case. This should be a 1-star hotel. I am sincerely baffled by any positive reviews.
