Just over the river from Saint Louis you'll run into the city of Saint Charles, Missouri. Downtown St. Charles is crammed with antique shops, specialty outlets and good cafÃ's and restaurants. Lewis and Clark set up strategic camp here in 1804, and are now remembered in the interesting small museum. The popular Katy Trail is excellent for hiking or cycling. Gambling and showboats are anchored along the riverbanks, while the St Charles Princess operates sightseeing, lunch and dinner cruises from Frontier Park. You'll find plenty of fun activities in this quaint town.
